Drupal is an enormously flexible content management system that primarily takes into account the requirements of Web 2.0. This means that many functionalities are provided to enable collaborative content creation. In addition to its use as a classic website, Drupal is also ideal as a community portal, social network or weblog. But Drupal also works very well as an intranet in a company.

Technically, Drupal is based on the PHP scripting language (from version 5.2), and MySql and PostgreSQL can be used as databases. Both the installation packages and the fully installed CMS are surprisingly small. Incidentally, you can choose a preconfigured „Installation Profile“ when downloading the installation. This allows websites to be set up more quickly for specific purposes.

In addition to a convenient drag & drop interface in the administration area, the use as a multilingual website stands out. The Drupal developers' pronounced ability for self-criticism is also well-known and should be emphasized as particularly positive.

Small catch: the rich text editor for convenient text writing must first be installed manually.
